We're eating out again today. This time it's @ my hubby's ex-schoolmate new house. Just a small group of 3 couples + 1 solo guy (any SGL bloggers interested?). I told my parents of today's plan & they're very happy. Why? Because they intend to iftar at my cousin's place & meet their favourite grandchild.
This 2 yr old girl is their apple eye. Satu hari tak jumpa bagai seribu tahun kerinduan yg di kumpul. I miss her too. :( We left home at 4.45pm & hubby was grumbling that I took so long to get dressed. Iskh! Pantang sey ako kena tegur. Padahal tadik suruh dia mandi dulu, dia tolak kat I. Now so naggy. So I threatened not to join & told him to go ahead alone, heh! then he stop. *evil grin* We made our way to Punggol Field & reached there at 6.30pm. Sempat lagi singgah Cold Storage to buy desserts @ Compass Point before that. So why the nag? Blearghh...
Anyway, the pair received a warm welcome from the host. Beautiful house. Tastefully decorated. Cheerful paint. Romantic setting of the master bedroom. Simple interior kitchen design. The future room for the future baby is nicely done too. Hmmmm.....tempted to get my own nest BUT nahh.... not now. We had potluck so each of us brought some food over. There were bonesteak (yes! again), baguette, fried bee hoon, roti john, kuih kaswi, putri salad, koleh2, ice-cream, cocktails, samosa, another roti john & 2-3 other dishes which I cant remember. Semua dah di process dlm perot :p The guys were very funny. They were recalling those days while they were back in school & how most of them now are doing well in their career. It was really funny as one of them was a real joker. Pendek kata tak kering gusi di buatnya. Then we solat together before continuing with the guitar session. The ladies relax one corner tengok2 album kahwin as usual. We left at around 9.30pm as I'm yawning away. What a weekend!

Simple but delicious. The others has been put away before I remembered to take a shot.
It's hubby's birthday today. We've been spending the night over at PIL's place since Saturday. MIL requested that I helped her with the cooking. Penat giler! Yang tak best nya, my PIL requested that I cooked a kuih for the iftar. *gulp!*
ME: huh? masak kuih?
MIL: ha'ah la...
ME: kalo tak nak boleh tak?
FIL: apsal tak nak?
ME: tak best ah cook at a kitchen not yr own.
MIL: alah! tak biasa....biasa kan lah
ME: *makes a pathetic look*
FIL: buatlah sedap2 sikit eh.
ME: *open eyes BIG BIG*
MIL: nanti leh suruh "Y" tolong.(Y - my SIL)
ME: OK lah since "Y" nak tolong. *still making that pathetic look*
MIL: buat kuih chwee kuey eh.
ME: OK....
....my youngest BIL pon tumpang semangkok.
BIL: ahhh!! adik suka.
ME: :p @ adik.
....& here's the end result of my humble kuih of the day.
chwee kuey
We had chicken rice as the main course with chicken soup & fried chicken. Here's some of the dishes - my MIL, SIL & myself whisked up for iftar.
chop choy or chap chai *watever its called*
SIL's secret recipe - grilled chicken.
To compensate for the grilled chicken which part of the ingredient include a black sauce, I made myself ayam goreng jintan. *LOL* Jadi ler..... janji tak kempunan. Even the chwee kuey, I opt out the black sauce since me & my own family dont eat it :p
A neighbour gave us, mee rebus in exchange for our chwee kuey.
mee rebus.
....and here's the spread on the dining table.
It's PINK everywhere! As I step into the office this mrng, I saw the secretary wearing PINK, the 3 local CS in PINK, 2 acct girls in PINK, all the ladies in regional team in PINK incl me & the field girls are also in PINK!! So that means the PINK project is gettin a lot of support. Well, I'm a PINK lover myself so I dun have much problem wearing PINK to work for the whole of this week. :p Of course the PINK project comes with T&C and I'm lucky that my PINK headgear is considered part of the package. *wink* Those who failed to comply, will have to give a treat to those in the PINK project. *applaud* Eh! Now the thought crosses my mind.....are we supporting the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation? Hmm... could be except that we dun have the PINK ribbon on. *chucklez*Auww.....this is really sweet! As majority of the staffs here are female, thus, the office looks so errr....full of sweetness?! hahaha. Anyway, I'll put up the picture for viewing when I've a copy....
Till then.... have a PINK day!
Finally, I get to meet her, her & her. It was a short notice meeting but alhamdulillah, all went well. We were practically very shy. Yes! A lil' bit tongue-tied for me. :p Decided to went ahead with the gathering despite 2 of them not being able to join. We discovered something in common among us. Yes! We're all petite & were abt the same height & weight. It seems that she has met & known her before. Thus, it was our very 1st meeting for her & myself. We ordered food, chit chat in between bites, exchange facts & infos on each other & finally decided to call it a night. Oh yes! We gotta shock when we saw our bill. It was way cheaper than what we calculated. Rupernya...... drinks is on the house. Many thanx to her sweet SIL. Next time we come again OK. Oops! Lupa nak bilang that we had dinner at Sakura @ Capitol Tower. *sigh* That place reminded me of those days.... Anyway, cakap punya cakap, we've forgotten to take pictures. *slaps forehead* Managed to capture these humble shots though ....
OK peeps! I know this is way too late BUT as promised, I've enclosed shots taken during our recent company outing at Turi Beach Resorts, Batam. More to come BUT that has to wait till the MIS guy has completed compiling all the photos into CD from various cameras. This is the most I can do for now. *panting* Enjoyzz...!!

US!! The wives again....
Right after the wedding, we rushed over to a relative's kenduri in Hougang together with MIL. FIL is away on business trip & so we were told to attend on his behalf. MIL mentioned that she felt like going to Geylang Serai after the kenduri & see the lightings as it's been quite a long time since she last step foot there. She heard over the radio that tonight will be the opening ceremony of the lightings. We agreed to go. (She's been sickly so most Ramadhans she'd be at home when most of us went to the bazaar.) We stayed in the car & saw the whole opening ceremony event a few metres away. From the arrival of the GOH, PM Lee to the cut ribbon, to the distribution of cheques to charity organisations to witnessing PM Lee taking a ride in the "Hippo bus" (alahhh...! The roofless double deck bus tuh lah...ako tak tau namanya :p)We decided to leave early instead of staying to watch on the program highlights. Managed to play around with the camera. Sajer2 amek gambar lampu2. :p

Ahhh...!! Saper2 nak gi tengok lampu kat Geylang Serai....sila lah mampir jgn malu2. A few bazaar has started operating though... *winkz*
It's Rizan & Idah's solemnisation today. Finally, the 5 close buddies of 12 years (i think) were ALL married. Though Rizan's was the last & only one to get married this year. The other 4 (including us) were married last year 2003, a gap of few weeks away from one another. Following are few shots during the event.
The nervous bride....
The bridegroom looking confident...
Finally, man & wife.
The close buddies pictured together.
It's the wives' turn to be pictured with the bride & groom.
Look! Who's cheek is chubbier? :p
Sorry! I know this is terribly late BUT I've decided to backdate every single eventful day. Caught up with junks of shit in the office :p
We've completed Phase 2 to Phase 4 successfully. It was tough having to paint with all the furnitures around. Thus, it was more tiring than painting an empty house. The toughest room painting was our parents' & the easiest was my brother's. He doesnt have a bed simply becos he dont like having one. :p He'd turn his room into a study room. So he slept on the sofa bed. Ours were so-so lah.
Phase 5 has to wait as we've forgotten to get the paint :p Completed painting at 8pm just in time for SI. *winkz* Thereafter, we decided to have dinner @ West Coast. Penat giler beb! We (except our parents) ate like hungry monster. It must be our "rezeki" for being good daughter & good son-in-law; met mum's cousin who had a stall there & we were treated to 2 plates of "Rojak Bandung". Power giler! Syukran.... *burrrppp*
No pictures though. As I said earlier - cameras not allowed. Hubby has hid the camera from sight just so that I wont get my hands on it. :( So people used your creative imagination to visualise every single details here lah k.
Grrrr...!! Someone has leaked my secret. *kick her ass* Well....yes! I took leave to paint the house. Mum has been nagging since last year that the house needs re-painting but it fell on deaf ears. It's only last few mths that hubby initiated taking leave & have the whole house re-paint. After all, both of us kan menumpang :(. Betol jugak kata dia & so we applied 2days leave off from work.
Phase 1: Re-paint whole living room
Phase 2: Re-paint parents room
Phase 3: Re-paint OUR room
Phase 4: Re-paint brother's room
Phase 5: Re-paint the gate.
Painters - hubby & wife
We completed Phase 1 successfuly. Painting started from 10 am & ended at 6.30pm. There were no accidents. Only spots of paints on faces & parts of the body. The most sufferer - ME! Sorry...no pictures. Camera not allowed when work is in progress.
I woke up to aching body & burnt skin. Tempted to take MC but I've to refrain from doing so as I've got important matters to attend this week. Oh dear! My head felt groggy & I'm wheezing. Prolly due to the rain yesterday. Back in the office, I was super busy. Sampai tak menang tangan dibuatnya. I was kept on my toes scurrying in & out of my boss office. Received a reminder from the secretary. Uh-oh! I've forgotten to claim my lucky draw prize. Shessh! Where did I place that claim letter yah? *scratch head* Found - in the wastepaper basket. So careless of me. Heh! How it landed there? I dunno. :p Anyway, I won a juice extractor + a leather namecard holder. That makes the 3rd set of juice extractor at home! *shake head* Hmmm....jadilah dari tak menang apa2. I was hoping to get the $700 travel voucher or at least a steamer. But too bad, luck was not on my side. Next year can try again.
kids discussing on their plans during this picnic. *chucklez* I heard one of them saying, "...eh! berapa minit kita nak mandi kat laut ah?" and another went,"...mandi sampai nak balik ah. tapi nak makan dulu". *laffs*
Meanwhile, the adults were busy eating & talking over food.
I spotted this lil' niece of mine left in her own world, straying & sulking away cos she's very eager to go into water. Poor girl!
Alright! It's SPLASHING time....dads' & grandpas' taking charge.
The tents moved into shelter as there's a slight downpour. Luckily, it's nearly time to go home.
Everyone in the family is busy preparing menu & were eagerly looking forward to the BBQ picnic tomorrow especially the kids. Each family has been allocated to bring food for the potluck. FIL's friend is so NICE to lend us his lorry for use to transport people to & fro. Oh dear! I'm as excited as the kids. *jumpin' around in delight* Altogether there'll be 5-6 families. Mode of transportation - 13 pax lorry, 1 car, 2 bikes. Food? Ni yg paling best. I'll make sure you'll drool over the list. We had :
- nasi lemak
- sambal udang
- otak-otak
- mee goreng
- ayam goreng crispy
- kebab
- rojak tahu bakar & char kway
- marinated chicken wings }
- marinated prawns }
- marinated mini potatoes } for BBQ
- marinated black pepper beef (w/o kicap - cos whole family tak mkn kicap) }

there's a whole lot more which I cant remember. We'll know when the day comes. Hopefully, the weather is bright & sunny.
Received a call from hubby who told me what the vendor (who's looking into my "sick" DSC) said about his findings. I was so shocked when I was told that the repairing will cost $262++ as the warranty does not cover the dentage on the lens. Now the million-dollar question is : how did the lens get the dent? It all happened during my company outing. All along I've been happily snapping pictures here & there and all was normal. Nothing happened. No dropping, no banging, no nothing. *scratch head* On that fateful night, while waiting for dinner to be ready in the restaurant, the cameras frenzy started. As usual, we took turns taking picture using different cameras. Well....as expected mine had its fair share too. We had group photo & the camera was entrusted in the hands of a colleague. I saw her holding onto my camera with great care as we were standing next to each other. Somehow, when I wanted to snap a picture of something that caught my attention, the camera "hang". It showed "...sumthing sumthing *cldnt remember exact word* error". I tried closing the lens using the slide door but it wont budge. My manager tried to help but still it doesnt help. That's when it really upset me a lot throughout the night. I was worried hubby would be angry with me when I told him what happened to the DSC. I din' do anything. Serious! I got witnesses too. But oh well! Luck is just not on my side. By hook or by crook, we've to fork out that sum for the repair as hubby need to use it for work purposes. *dabs eye* I'm so sad for what has befallen on you dear mr konica-minolta. Hope you'd get well soon. It pains me even more to see my $$ notes flying out from my pocket. *sit one corner & brood over spoiled camera*
