Flying Without Wingzzz....

Monday, January 31, 2005

I thought after that eventful wedding back in 2003, it'd be my first & last. I don't ever wish to go through it all over again whatever the circumstances are. But I was wrong. I simply couldn't resist his "proposal". He came knocking on the door one fine day.

Yeah....he did. There, standing at the door with his sheepish smile, both hands full with bags of goodies, he asked if he could come in. Oh! I've forgotten to let him in as I was in a shock then.

Called out to my mum & dad. They were just as shocked. Dh came out too & he frowned a little but managed a smile & salam him.

Ahhh...!! Finally, we knew why he was here. My cousin is getting MARRIED?!?!

He wants us to help with his wedding preps. His parents will be on the way to discuss things, but he simply couldnt contained his happiness that he blurted it all out without waiting for them.

As things are, I was then requested to help with the planning. I couldnt say "No" when he pleaded with me. He's gone head over heels & dont even has a direction to start from.

But first things first, we've to convert the girl to Islam. Alhamdulillah!

Right now, as I flipped through the wedding magazines,*curik tulang dlm opis jap* I found myself walking down the memory lane once again.....*mentel betol ako nie :p*

The wedding will be held in May 2005. That's exactly 4 mths away. First 'pit' stop - to the BRIDAL house.

Oooohhhh......I LIKE!!! I LIKE!!! I LIKE!!!

A retreat that left an invigorating, rejuvenating & refreshing feeling.

Today, it was a sweet & sour treats for me.

First, it was this

that got me smiling from ear to ear. Yeah! Finally I got my hands on his album while most music stores were putting up signs "Blessings - Taufik Batisah. Temporarily out of stock." Well....here I managed to grab one & this was among the last few copies! *humming to I Dream*

Second, had a colleague's wedding dinner to attend after work at The Regent.

It'd had caused a big burnt in my pocket. :( Oh well! Chinese weddings are way more expensive. (I wish they hadnt given me the invites tho' :p) Anyway, it was great to be celebrating the happy occasion with the lovebirds. Beautiful! Yeah you guess it right. I wish I had my wedding a second time at the ballroom. The dinner started quite late - 9pm! I was famished & puked twice. Never went to a Chinese dinner this late. Damn! I wish I'd a sandwich in my bag. By the time food was served, I was no longer hungry after drinking glasses of plain water. The dinner ended at 11.15pm & I reached home 5 mins before midnight.

*yawnnnnzzzzz*

What a day to end....

p/s: pictures uploading during the kolig's wedding is half complete. please bear with me for the time being

Their decade of love united when their hearts binded for a lifetime....

CONGRATULATIONS Ahmad & Lena for tying the knot. Wishing hubby & wife a blissful marriage.....

Looking at the gorgeous couple, that brought me back to our own wedding. We were there once before & how time flies now. It seems that we've only gotten married recently & to-date we still feel so much in love .....

*nudge hubby*

Dear....another round of wedding glamour shots shall we?

No? Why not? Just once.....once last one? Still No?? :(

Finally, I found the time to really settle down to blog. I managed to bloghop in between break though. :p The new year has promise me with new challenges (read: extra workload). Thanx to the recent appraisal. I guess this is what he (boss) meant by "look forward to new challenges in 2005". Bleargh! Nevermind the workload as long as I'll be expecting another big, fat bonus end 2005. Hehehehe....2005 has just started & I'm already looking forward to year end :p

Oh! I just realised I havent had any new year resolution. Is it a must? If its not, then I shall simply live the day to its best. I used to have a resolution but hardly fulfilled any of them. Thus, I dont have any for this year if you ask. I pray & hope that it'll be a better year for me. I wish to put whatever happened in 2004 behind me now. All those eventful incidences has taught me to be a better person.

As for this blog, it'll stay for now. Updates? Just dun expect more ;p Bloggers' gathering? Insya-Allah, if time permits. Bloghopping? As often as I can.

Just DONT stop visting me ok? *drop on knees*

GTG now.... si botak dah panggil tuh. ;p

With every change of the calendar year, everyone look forward to new resolution, new hopes, new life.

But for a cousin of mine, she & her family never fails to pray & hope that their beloved dad & hubby would recover & live another year. (Doctors has been predicting the life span of the sick father/hubby.) The sickly dad too had hopes. To see his only son succeed in his studies & to see his only daughter bear him a grandchild. Afterall, she managed to fulfill his wish last year - get married.

Unfortunately, he succumbed to his illness. He breathe his last breath after seeing the sun (his last wish) at the deathbed, yesterday morning @ 9.10am. He left behind his grieving wife, a 10-yr-old son, a 21-yr-old daughter & a son-in-law.

Al-Fatihah for Syed Murtaza Bin Junid Aljunied.
May his soul rest in peace...... amin.

*dabs teary eyes*

This .... has made me more and more appreciative of my dad. *hugs to him*

Finally, I push myself to pluck up whatever energy & desire left to blog. Yeah.... I've lost my interest in blogging too. Dunno if I will ever blog for a lifetime.

Anyway, I spent my last few days in December 2004 clearing leave & keeping myself busy at all times. Idle mind = sleepy eyes. Mum would be very unhappy if she caught me doing that. *shrugs*

Met up with the owner of Hadiys Arte to collect my candles.

Ouhh! Dont they look beautiful? Glad that my aunt like it. As I pen this down, I suppose the candles have landed safely in England. Thanx pal for the personalised touch to the candles. It captured my mum's attention too! ;)

Eve of new year, we had a mini bloggers' gathering @ her new abode. Since it was potluck, each of us has carefully planned the menu just so that none of us will starve especially with the guys around. The kind host offered to cook after much hesitation. *chucklez* I even name her dish "Nasi Goreng Fear Factor" which turns out ......YUMMY! Why the "Fear Factor"? Ask the host. *winkz* Since, I've forgotten to bring my camera & the host is too busy to download the pictures, I'll just list down the dishes we had :- 2 pizzas - BBQ Chicken Bonanza & Spore Special from Canadian 2 for 1 pizza, Nasi Goreng Fear Factor, fried chicky, Indian Rojak, jelly cocktail, cakes & 2 tubs of ice cream. After the meal, we had a short tour around the house. Verdict - Simple & tastefully furnished. Very cosy. Cant stop eyeing her spiky lights & her POKOK *winkz @ herda*

New year - FIL treated us to dinner @ Simpang Bedok. We settled @ Lestari. The place was new to me as it's my first time there. My...my....what a feast we had!

My BILs ate to their fill. *chucklez* Guess...this is what my 2nd BIL has been looking forward to - more of such family gatherings. Insya-Allah, will gather again when everyone is free. After dinner, we went our separate ways. dh & I went home while PIL & siblings-in-law went to Metro Warehouse sale. We've to give the trip a miss as dh is unwell. Poor him!
