Flying Without Wingzzz....

Wednesday, March 30, 2005
We had dinner together at Café le Caire @ Al-Majlis, located along Arab St. It was supposed to be a meeting before her wedding. Unfortunately, the rest were unable to attend due to other commitments. Thus, it was the 4 of us meeting for the 2nd time. As the saying goes “the show must go on” ;-) However, our consolation was when zany’s husband & son (maid included) decided to join us later. How sweet!

My cousin's wedding is exactly 75 days away.

Sunday, my mom & I assist the bride/groom-to-be during the outfits selection. They are happy. We, EXTREMELY happy. :-D Why are we happier? Because they insist my mom & I choose one outfit each for them. WoohOoo! I wont be wearing them but at least they like my choice of outfit. They regarded & love my mom as their own. So they gave priority to my mom. My aunt? She doesnt mind but instead insist that mom obliged to their request. Whatever my mom like she like. That's what she says. I was given a chance too.

I just LOVE every visit to the bridal shop but yesterday was an exceptionally happier moment. I didnt know they took what both mom & I told them seriously. They consulted us on every teeny weeny issues. Their parents entrusted us the running of the whole wedding affair. WOW! I felt important. Steady lah kambing! *LOL*

Guess what?

My cousin got back her lost wallet. *makes a wave* WoooHooooo!! Syukur alhamdulillah. All her cards were intact, even CA$H!! What?!?! Ca$h untouched?!?! *open eyes big big* A kind soul has forwarded the wallet to the (infamous) shop owner in wedding card business @ KOMTAR. The kind shop owner then sent a letter to my cousin based on the address on the IC.

J rushed down to JB after work to collect it. She couldnt wait another day. *LOL*

She has to inform the NPP abt her lost & found wallet. Nasib baik dapat balik IC. That means she would get her refund since both her dad & her cards were recovered.

Syukur alhamdulillah.....

This is indeed a good lesson for my careless cousin. For frequent shoppers across the causeway too.

It was an eventful trip to JB last Saturday.

1st unfortunate event - I was down with high fever. 38.5 degrees celcius. But that did not deter me from going across the causeway. I braved it throughout the journey.

The mission was to get - bunga pahar, bunga manggar, wedding invites & favors.

2nd unfortunate event - my cousin, J, was pickpocketed while shopping with us! Only realised when she wanted to pay deposit for the wedding invites.

3rd unfortunate event - we left the shop in a haste looking for the culprit & we'd forgotten to place our order.

*sigh*

While on the way back, these questions kept playing in our mind.

- where was the pickpocket while we were shopping?
cos we saw no one in particular looked suspicious then. We were moving in grp: me & hubby, mum & cousin.

- J insist she did not bump into anyone, which is true, cos she was either with me or mum.

- she was last seen holding the wallet while paying for the wedding favors where both of us split the cost. the shop owner saw her putting it back into her bag.

The shop owners @ both shop were helpful. They coaxed my cousin & asked for her number in case they found it. The thing is, J looked cool. As if the wallet wasnt hers. In it contained - S$100, RM 150, both her dad & her ic plus some other cards. Luckily her credit cards & atm were in a card holder in her bag.

To the penyamun, happy shopping & may you be haunted for life for your deeds.

To the frequent shoppers across the causeway, BEWARE! make sure your bag is zipped. If it has pockets outside, avoid keeping your wallet there. J did that.

I've a feeling the penyamun pakai jampi serapah lah, time dia seluk dlm beg tuh my cousin tak terasa nie....
