Flying Without Wingzzz....

i'm on urgent leave today.

as usual, upon waking up, i kiss nks's forehead. but it felt warm. i did a temp check and was so shocked(!!) to read the temp at 38.7.

oh! my poor baby. my heart wrecked to hear her whining in her sleep - eyes closed, mouth ajar. :p

i messaged my boss and colleague to inform them that i wont be coming to office today. meanwhile, i applied the fever patch on my poor baby's forehead and squirted the panadol into her mouth.

hopefully, she'd get better within the next hour or so. she always does whenever she had fever.

prayed for her speedy recovery.

then i remembered.

earlier on, i had wanted to apply leave when i heard the loud thunder. suddenly, the lazy bug set onto me. i didnt know, that i'd actually had to take the leave i was contemplating on. but this time it's for a genuine cause.

my baby needs me. she's sick. no wonder she didnt wake up for her usual night feed.

when she woke up, she look weak but she still insist on playing and blabbering. took her temp and it reads 39.8.

uh-oh! to the family doctor we go.

it was very crowded. damn! it's monday's bug and expected. sigh. mom suggested we try my aunt's family doc since baby has turn a lil cranky and was growing impatient with the waiting.

again, we had another shocked when the nurse took her temp. it reads 36.4. she says that my baby is well and has no fever. she used the armpit thermometer and i contested on the accuracy. she asked what kinda thermometer i used and i mentioned braun ear thermometer. and she said that the thermometer is not accurate cos it's very sensitive. well....isnt it suppose to be?!

gosh!

i told her that before we left, i was certain her temp was very high last read at 38.6. her face has turned all red. even her lips and eyes.

i'm getting impatient with her and the doc. there was no other patient around. just 2 including us. and the doctor is taking his own sweet time treating the one before us.

when it was our turn, the doctor again claimed that my baby doesnt look sick. (potek ke mata dia anak ako muka merah2 and looking weak) i told him that she gagged twice after her milk feed. and he assumed that my baby had a fall even after i denied.

he kept checking her body for bruises. eh?! giler ke dekni. ako mak dia...da cakap tak jatoh...tak jatoh lah. he kept insisting my baby prolly had a fall yday. hey! i was with her the whole day and there was no fall. i came because she has a fever!

i told him off. i wouldnt be here if she wasnt sick. i wouldnt be all panicky if her temp wasnt that high. he conclude i was overly anxious cause i was a first time mother. at this instance, i felt like giving him a punch on the face.

he was not sympathic at all. wonder how he was recognised as a good gynae and baby doctor. he wasnt friendly at all and was not willing to answer my queries.

he got the cheek to say this "i dunno what to say. cause this is my first time seeing her. and she is a new patient. u come again then i may be able to offer advices"

is he referring that we should make more trips down? nak suruh baby sakit selalu ke? the baby was prescribed with 2 bullets to bring the temp down, a cough syrup, a panadol and a medicine to control the gagging. weird! he says she doesnt have a fever but look at the list of medication presribed especially the bullet. GP usually give that when temp is high. funny thing is....when i asked for a spoon or syringe, the nurse said "we dont have any. use any normal teaspoon or buy from pharmacy" (!?) and the bill came out to be $30.

never a second time lah.....

i forsee that the next couple of weeks will be very hectic. that speaks why I have not been able to update the blog diligently.

there's so much to rant about but damn! time is pretty short. i did attempt to update. i'd type a long list ranting and whining away, and then while publishing it just went ka-pootz and poof! all gone in split seconds.

my temper isnt very good these past few days. feeling under the weather. just wishing the weekends will ease the tension. cant wait!

tell me....who in the right mind would wanna sit for a meeting at 5.30pm?!?! if given a choice, i wouldnt!

now my head hurts a lot. nak sakit ker? bagus jugak bleh mc...dok umah and tido. syiok gitu. hahaha!

ok.....back to work now.

i had a weird dream yesterday.....

i dreamt of a fellow blogger whom was pregnant with her 4th child! actually, i wanted to laugh when the dream kept re-playing in my mind. because this fellow blogger will quickly shunned herself away from the talks of pregnancy.

there was once when her eldest daughter asked for a little brother. she already has one brother and one younger sister but she insisted of asking for another which the mum turned down.

so back to my dream.....

i dreamt that i'd paid her a visit. her husband just came back from his business trip. there was her mil, pil, the husband playing the kids, while she with her growing bump was busy in the kitchen. then i rubbed her tummy and commented how she looked different and how that what she used to avoid is now happening again - being pregnant. she just laughed it off and simply reply "accident!"

lol!

then while we were talking, her mil came into the kitchen with a small bag. in it was her "pantsuit" which she had wore the day before when she came over to spend the night to keep the pregnant woman and her 3 kids company. *giggles* and being a menantu mithali she offered to wash it for her mil even with much persistent from the mil. so i saw her handwashing the clothes and scrubbing it!! sweat dripping down from her tired face.

i pitied her and offered to help but she declined. so i kept her company by asking the gender of the baby and it happened to be a BOY! no wonder her eldest daughter was the happiest. the husband was all smiley when he overheard our conversation.

just when i was about to help her to hang the clothes to dry, suddenly my mobile phone rings. before i could say "hello!" i felt my body shaking.....

alamak!

spoiler betol! the hubby has been trying to wake me up from my sleep.....and me dream ended abruptly. binget sey!

anyway, i'm gonna sms that fellow blogger to ask if she's really pregnant and congratulate her. *giggles*

oh! if you have been wondering whom i dream of.... it's mrsbeki. she's in my url link. lol!



p/s: anyway, this is NOT the first time i had a dream of fellow bloggermates being pregnant. this is the 3rd. the other two were - nymph (shny) and ekxxs. heh!

i think the lil babe is teething. she has been having sleepless nights for 4 days now. gave her the teether and she rubbed it on her gums till it sounded. i think it's itchy and frustrating for her. gave her "mothers' trusted remedy" - gripe water. it does help to soothe her itching gums but temporarily. when i saw her smiling again....i started to envision her smiling with two tiny teeth at the bottom. im gonna miss those toothless smile soon. gonna take snapshots of those toothless smile and laughter for reminiscing.......

im having a hard time at work. eversince my colleague left, i was bombarded with numerous emails and one of it cause me to have sleepless night for 2 days already. right now, im still thinking on how to provide answers to her queries. it sounded weird and it was my first encounter at it. damn! why now then she asked.

sigh.

wish my boss is in town to help me with this. whether i like it or not, gotta answer her queries or she'll think im inefficient. chet!

heh! its so unusual for me to update two entries in a day! not that i'm free but it's just that my server is lagging so much that it delays my work processes.

anyway, we've been told to evacuate the office TWICE today! once at 12 noon and another at around 2.30pm. the first time it occured, i was busy washing up my breastpump equipments when suddenly a frantic colleague knocked on the door and shouted something that it was bearly audible. i thought they were rushing me to quickly pack up and go for lunch cos they were hungry. so the moment i unlatched the door lock, she told me to hurry up cos the building was shaking. i really thought she was kidding not until i saw a whole bunch of my female colleagues waiting for me outside.

i quickly got out and was pushed to the lift landing when i told them i really need to keep my ebm in the fridge. i saw some of them slapping their foreheads and told me to hurry. apadah.....itu pon nak panic. so while i ran all the way to the pantry, i suddenly felt giddy. it feels like im on board cruise and i thought yeah, perhaps this is really something SERIOUS!

i grabbed my bag and wallet and breastpump (expensive wohh!) and ran out.there were already crowds gathered around the building towers and the secretary told us to go for lunch and report back at a designated spot at 1.15pm. and so it was not a surprise to see long queues and big crowds at one time at almost all the eateries around. we had lunch at padi & nooch. coincidentally, it was manageable for the secretary cos there were not many people around. the management and fellow commercial directors were away in Manila while the sales team were out of town so that leave 12 of us in the office. heh!

...and so we came back and was assured that things were back to normal. so while we were busy working, 1/2 an hour later, a mild tremor was first felt by my buddy. she asked "did u feel it?" and i went " feel what?" and she went " are you sure you dun feel anything?!?! i saw your body swaying!!" and the moment she said that i felt a sudden surge of nauseous feeling and saw her moving side to side. ok this time i felt the tremors and it was scary.

funny! i din feel anything while in the toilet just now. the secretary make an announcement on the speaker for us to take our belongings and leave the office within 60 seconds?!

wahlau! where got enuff time man to save all our work. da lah server lagging nak mam***.....

....and again we were gathered at the street across the building whilst the building management do their rounds to look for cracks and signs of the building tearing apart (?!?!) time was wasted waiting and waiting and more waiting. meanwhile, the MD has sent an sms to the secretary for us to work from home if the situation does not improved and if some of us feel uncomfortable. yahhooo!! balik siang seyy.....that was at 3.30pm!

i was so eager to go home since i have my bag with me except for my ebm which i left in the fridge to cool. i was expecting my colleagues to be as excited as i am....but dorang semua nak balik office keje. weak seyy!! so i decided to follow majority lor...go back office and work.

sigh....

............and i'm itching to start blogging again. :p

i'll try to keep my update running as frequent as possible. i hope to be able to blog from home again cos it aint easy to update at work (and now with the lil babe around.... its getting a lil tough to work on the lappie too :-s.) she just loves all the techy stuffs and we decided to call her iBaby. LoL!

let me just update a lil bit on the baby here.

welllll....she changed our life instaneously eversince her arrival. the house is now filled with her laughter, blabber, shouts.........and mess but we just love the way it is. lol! the grandma now has a little company when everyone is at work. :)

nurkhairina sophia or more commonly known as nks (among mummy's and daddy's web pals) or khairina or sophia, is a very active baby. i guess all babies are. :) she loves to explore the entire house and create and leave a mess. she is now 8 months old and she has learnt how to crawl and sit and before long she'd be learning to walk. gosh! it's so fast and i feel like i'm missing alot and sadly, i didnt get to witness all her firsts! currently, she loves to sit at sofas and will stay there for about 5 mins before itching to attempt to get down from where she was seated on her own!! the first time i caught her doing that, it caused me to have a sudden heart paused.... i mean it felt like my whole heart is popping out through my mouth!! but now she only did it when we're around. yikes!

in my brother's room, there's a sofa bed which is low and she loves to practice her motor skills on it by climbing up and down. she's chatty and loves to smile and laugh. she also knows how to fake a laughter pretending to know what we're talking about; so when we laugh she laugh.lol!

she can repeat certain words that we taught her like "Allah!" or "uh-oh!" or "take" or "there" or "yes" and hmmm.....quite a few. maybe the next time she say it loud and clear i shall jot it down in a notepad or something ya....ekekekek!

oh yes! both daddy and baby loves to fight. its either the baby cries for help or the daddy screaming in pain after a tussle. sigh! pekak tinger ako duduk satu bilik dgn dorang. cant read my books or watch tv or lie down in bed in peace! it's either the baby pinched the daddy's nipple hard or scratched his face or hit his face with her jendol or poke his eyes with her tiny fingers or plucked his legs hair out OR the daddy grabbed the baby's hands to prevent her from crawling or smother her with kisses or hold her tight against the tummy - all these come with shouts and cries and screams.

ok next is about work. bleargh!

work *heaves a heavy sigh* has taken a toll on me. as far as i could remember i havent been this busy the previous years. my buddy tendered her resignation early of the year and i have to cover and im busy doing the #1 award branding project whose deadline is 12th march. penat wohh!

then there was system migration and then attending more department off site meeting and that comes with new tasks and projects, and then there's the appraisal which the boss has been putting on hold for god-knows-how-long and then there's the major change in IT dept policy that ..... all of us brood over it for days! :p ...and then ....and then....the day came and msn has been permanently blocked! *wails* peh binget sey. there goes all my favourite emoticons. susah payah ako accumulate and saved over the years and this bombshell came. my IT guy was nice, he taught me how to transfer all the emoticons to my home lappie. and i'm gonna do it over the weekends. :))

guess what??

i've been struck by the bookscrapping bug. :o damn! its an expensive hobby sia. but i love it. been getting my papers and all other stuffs online cos i couldnt find the time to go down to the shops to buy which i guess will cause bigger damages to my wallet. :-/ i'll try to put it for viewing. im doing a theme on my baby's milestone before she turns 1 and next will be on my pregnancy. heh! i sounded very ambitious ya. and u know what? i've only started doing 1st page of my baby's milestone. lol!!

hmmm...i'll update more frequently here at blogger.com cos m just not too familiar with multiply and shall leave it to the hubby to do the updating which he has been doing right now. he'll update more on nks and her pics in multiply. i'll stick to blogger.com to rant about my boring life. if u ever bother to read....thank you. lol!
